We have been making the most of the calm weather and awesome offshore fishing. NSW boys John, Chris, Jeff, Tom, Jesse and John A. fished with me over the past 2 days with the bulk of the catch being Spanish mackerel, GT's and longtail tuna!!!

Pelagics
Pelagic action has been awesome! Plenty of good size spanish mackeral, tuna and gts. Popper fishing for gts is in my opinion the most exciting way to fish for these brutes. We landed the smaller gts, but were no match for the monsters!! Even with Stella 10000s, Saltiga GTs and 80 pound braid we still got smoked!!!!!!!

Creeks Firing!!!!!!!!!
Gold Coast father and son, Damian and Andrew, have just completed their 6 day charter to Weipa!!
The weather was not on our side for the first 4 days with strong westerly winds and rain. Luckily, the fishing up the rivers more than made up for the miserable weather. The rivers were alive with barra and king salmon. Andrew caught this 88cm king salmon and 90 cm barra on the first morning!! Once the weather cleared, the beaches did not disappoint. Plenty of queenfish, small golden trevally and good size cobia were caught casting around the cruising mantarays.

The mexicans are here!!!!!
This week we were joined by Victorian boys Shane, Brian and Mark. The weather was awesome and so was the fishing. Offshore there were football fields of tuna, some of which had GTs and fingermark lurking below. The beaches produced good numbers of barra, golden trevally, salmon and big queenfish.
Looking at the tide charts it seemed it could be a little quiet up the creeks. This was definitely not the case! The creeks fired with good numbers of just about everything!!!!!!!!!
