Weipa Winter

Well it's been a busy past few weeks. The water is freezing cold but the fish haven't seemed to mind. There have been some cracker jacks recently with Phil Anthon landing one of the monsters below measuring 55cm. The barra have been liking the top-water lures although some drains have been frustrating - seeing plenty in there but struggling to get them to bite. For the most part the offshore weather has been crap although when we have managed to get out there the fishing has been spectacular. The trusty metal jigs have been working a treat on the Spanish mackerel GTs and tuna. I also had a little time to sneak away for a fish for myself with a mate for a few days. The pics of what went on are below!!!!!

Offshore

Hey guys, the past few days have seen some awesome offshore action. The weather gods have finally been kind and the fish are on! There is a ton of bait around which is being hammered by Spanish macks, tuna and sharks. There has also been plenty of good-size fingermarks hanging under the bait. The soft plastics have been working a treat!!!!
