Rod and Sandy

Just finished 6 days fishing with Rod and Sandy Kimberly. The week produced a real mixed bag of entertainment - offshore was alive with longtail and mackeral tuna - we caught them on fly, on the troll and casting slugs. Rod also managed to catch his first sailfish after teasing him up on a pusher and switching over to garfish. The beaches were good for a couple of days until a large westerly swell pushed in. The first morning on the beach we caught 60 or so fish on fly. It was pretty much a fish a cast - brassy trevally, Golden trevally, tea-leaf trevally, khale khale trevally and plenty of Queenies on the popper flies.
The creeks produced quite a few solid barramundi, with plenty between 60 and 70cm, the biggest going 78cm.  We caught them on top-water lures, live bait, and fly. The salmon were on the chew as well, and we racked up around 15 each day, mostly blues, with a few nice king salmon in the mix as well.
